leave the bible out of this! For gosh sakes, not everthing has to do with the bible. It is a book, and like the Koran, even Harry Potter, you can chose to believe in it. If you don't want to, thats fine. Homosexualioty may be a disorder from birth, a disorder won choses, or even just someone choosing to be gay. Most gays proby wouldnt chose this though considering how much flack they get mind you. if it is a disorder who cares though? Being gay should be no differnt then being black, white, or born with only one leg. We should all strive to achieve whats best for ourselfs and if being gay makes you happy, then go ahead. it doesnt matter if you chose to or not, do what you want. And by the way, how is discriminating against the gays good for heterosexuals? It benifits them in NO way.

As a lesbian, I have to totally agree with the above statement. Homosexuality has just made mine and my girlfriend's lives endessly harder--she risks being disowned by a father she loves and it breaks her heart. I have to hide who I am at work so I'm not discriminated against. I've been bullied, had abuse shouted at me, ostracised, and i've absolutely no doubt this pattern will contiue throughout my life. So yeah, had we had a choice, we wouldn't have chosen to be this way.
But you know what? If I had a choice now, today--a choice between heterosexuality, acceptance, all these things--I would stay exactly the way I am, and I know she would too. Why? Because we love each other, and I for one have never been happier. We're going to have a family and a future. I finally feel I have a purpose.
Now. If that seems to you an irrational choice, with no logical basis, then fine, it's a mental illness. But if you understand what it's like to love someone in the face of adversity when people are calling you sick, depraved and peverted, I think you'll find it's the people dealing all this abuse out who are the sick ones.
