A hypothesis is not identical to a theory. According to the Merriam-Webster Online, a hypothesis is "an assumption or concession made for the sake of argument."
This article is about a theory, defined as "the analysis of a set of facts in their relation to one another." In the interest of accuracy, this article should not state "Global warming theory is... a hypothesis."
