'''John Cleese''' a British comedian and an original member of the comedy team [[Monty Python]].
'''John Cleese''' (born October 27, 1939) is a British comedian, actor, screenwriter and producer. He was born in Weston-super-Mare, [[Somerset]]. He was an original member of the comedy team [[Monty Python]]. Cleese and his first wife [[Connie Booth]] created the [[sitcom]], [[Fawlty Towers]], in which he played Basil Fawlty, a pedantic and crazed hotel owner. The character was based on a real life person who managed a hotel that the [[Monty Python]] crew stayed at during the making of one of their movies.
