'''George Wishart''' (c. 1513 – March 1, 1546) was a Scottish [[Christian]] who travelled through [[Scotland]] as an itinerant preacher where he went from place to place, in danger of his life, denouncing the [[evil]]s of the [[Pope|Papacy]]. He was eventually renditioned to the [[Roman Catholic]] Cardinal Beaton who held a "show trial". He was then murdered by burning at the stake on 1st March 1546 in St Andrews where he is commemmorated as a [[martyr]] to the [[faith]] on the [[Martyrs' Monument]].
