'''Frank Herbert Muir''' (1920-1998) was a British comedy writer and performer. He became involved with Forces Radio while serving in the [[Royal Air Force]] during [[World War II]] and onm demobilisation became a writer for [[Jimmy Edwards]]]. His writing partnership with [[Denis Norden]], formed shortly afterwards, was to bring both men great renown. Together they scripted [[The Glums]] and [[Whack-O]] for Jimmy Edwards, as well as many other radio comedies; and the pair were mainstays of the radio panel game ''My Word''. Muir (alone) was also a long-standing panel member of the popular television panel game ''Call My Bluff'', and he was much in demand as a voice-ver for televison advertisements. He wrote several books, including childrens' stories, (edited) humorous anthologies, and an acclaimed autobiography, ''A Kentish Lad''.
