The armistice was signed by the [[Allies]] and the [[Central Powers]] in [[France]]. The [[Germans]] were laid with the heavy burden of repaying the Allies (mostly [[Britain]] and France). They had to pay them a reparation of 30 million dollars in a appointed amount of time. Germany was required to regulate [[army]] size. Reparation payments and resentment, along with economic instability caused by the [[United States]] [[stock market crash]] in 1929, among other things, allowed political instability that led to the rise of [[Adolf Hitler]] and the [[Nazi Party]], thus laying the seeds for [[World War II]].
