::: It is not "indisputably" added later.  Some ''do'' dispute it.  The NIV's note (I'd be surprised if yours doesn't say why, Ajkgordon), does not say that it was added later.  It says, "The most reliable early manuscripts and other ancient witnesses do not have Mark 16:9-20.".  The ''implication'' is that it was added later, but being added later is not what the NIV ''says''.  And the implication could be wrong.  I'm not saying that it ''is'' wrong; just that it could be.  [[User:Philip J.
