The general feeling is that this scandal has put a serious career ending dent into Edwards' political prospects.  Considering all that has happened and Elizabeth with cancer, snake oil salesman? It has removed him from Vice Presidential consideration and hampered the chances for Presidential convention speaches and of his becoming Attorney General.
