Interestingly, [[Robert Bruce]] fought with the English at the Battle of Falkirk against Wallace, but later rebelled against England as Wallace had and won Scottish independence from England.<ref>Encyclopedia of Military History, Dupuy & Dupuy, 1979, Pg. 366</ref>  A later Scottish alliance with [[France]] was part of the cause of the [[Hundred Years War]].
