I think it was a message to all of the other colonies to join the revolution. If they didn't, they would die. I think I'd probably date this picture to a few years before the Revolutionary War.

H1. What I find interesting, is how much smaller some of the colonies were back then. I wonder if the people knew how big some of them would get.

They couldn't just use an airplane to take a birds eye view picture, or use satellites, so how would they have been able to map it out?

H3. 'What was the cause of the possession-like symptoms of the young girls in Salem in 1692, that their doctor attributed to the supernatural?' I personally think that the girls were faking all illnesses. Maybe they liked that they could say anything they wanted about whoever they wanted, and some people would take it as truth. But I don't think that it was caused by witches, or any other form of supernatural being.

H5. 'Should England have been able to impose direct taxes on the colonies?' I think that they had the right to tax America. For the necessary things that were imported. Like tea, for example. What the Colonists would have payed for the tea before taxes wouldn't probably not have been enough to pay the people who had shipped it, or pay the people who made the tea. So I think some taxes were fine, but maybe Britain just went a little over board.
