:Hopefully there is information in the article itself that would help one to see the validity of the statements.  It would be hard to 'cite' the entire article.  That John McCain was considered to be the Democratic Vice Presidential candidate on the 2004 ticket should tell you that he's a maverick.  As far as being a leader, any of the numerous bills that he has put forth and pushed for already show that.  When you tackle an issue like campaign finance reform, that would annoy both parties, and you actually get it to take a position of prominence under your leadership, then we are allowed to acknowledge that as leadership.
