:::::Noah, these shootings didn't occur at the Macy's Thanksgiving Day parade. They didn't even occur in more modest parts of San Francisco. They occured in the part of the city with the loosest morals and which consequently attracts all kinds of derelicts. If the gays choose to live in such a moral vacuum, they shouldn't be surprised by the elements they attract. The shooting occured at a street celebration in the Castro, which had gained ill repute for its nudity and wild displays. That's not entirely accurate. The purpose of the policy is to make prostitution legal, but there is a statewide ban. It's the same thing as CA's legal marijuana -- weed is still illegal at the federal level. It's not about stopping the police but ''de facto'' legalizing. Now whether or not you think it ''should'' be legalized (or decriminalized; tomato tomahto) is a whole other issue entirely.
