On October 27th, 2008, Stevens was convicted on 7 counts of corruption, after a highly politicized trial meant to ensure that justice would be served. However, in typical Alaskan form, Ted Stevens somehow held a narrow lead after the election and may just(once all the votes are tallied) become the only convicted felon ever elected to office.
