'''Frankenstein''' is a novel by Mary Shelley, describing the life and actions of a Henry Frankenstein, who succeeds in animating a corpse sown together from various body parts. The creature is at first friendly, but after it is treated harshly it becomes bitter and resolves to kill its master. After Frankenstein dies of pneumonia, the creature commits [[suicide]]. The book was made into a film in 1931 (see [[Frankenstein (1931 film)), which changes the plot and characters.
