The '''Rig Veda''' is the most fundamental of the sacred Vedic [[Hindu]] texts.
It is a collection of Hymns telling the stories of the Hindu gods. First done in written form from 1200 - 900 BC. It is among the oldest [[Sanskrit]] writings. Some question exists about the actual age of the Vedas with some sources placing them at 4,000 BC or earlier.
