→‎Unwarranted 90/10 block: I guess I'll join Corry on the Block Bench in a few for posting this.
Line 193: Line 193:
::Ed used the block option to win an argument and used it again to shut up an abuse complaint.  How is this OK?  Why not just delete this page?  Everybody that brings up abuse just gets blocked.  [[User:Corry|Corry]] 16:11, 16 December 2008 (EST)

:Fascinating:

::(Block log); 16:19 . . TK (Talk | contribs) blocked Corry (Talk | contribs) with an expiry time of 3 months (account creation disabled) (Violated 90/10 rule against talk, talk, talk: and continued argument over things that do not concern him)

:And this just minutes after Corry replied to TK here... hmmmmmmm...

:I am with Corry and BRichtigen: The rules may not be a suicide pact, but that doesn't mean that sysops and wannabe-sysops can simply go all Wild West on whoever they don't like. The rules are already biased against those with no special rights and those who dare to bring up abuse or to point out that those in power made an innocent mistake, but these days, they are effectively discarded in favor of pure "might makes right".

:This isn't how a community works. And it merely turns the Abuse Helpdesk into a honeypot trap.

:And yes, I completely expect to be banned or blocked for some convenient reason, too. Wouldn't be my first block for complaining here about abuse, even. --[[User:AlanS|AlanS]] 16:58, 16 December 2008 (EST)
