::Andy, I think Jinxmchue was actually arguing ''for'' abstinence. He was ridiculing the anti-abstinence arguments.

I guess I do not understand the issue here. Abstinence will help prevent the spread of HPV, however there are situations where the potential to become infected by HIV can occur, intercourse with an infected individual (be it a spouse who is unaware), mucus membrane contact (yes, HPV has been isolated from under the finger nails, skin and other areas of people) and child birth transmission. With that said why does it hurt to have an extra layer of protection through the use of the vaccine when all that I listed above as modes of infection are possible in a normal everyday innocent life? I would like my children to abstain from intercourse until marriage; however I wish to protect them even if they make a mistake and potentially expose themselves to this virus (just as I would with HIV, Herpes, ect).--[[User:Able806|Able806]] 16:16, 14 January 2009 (EST)
