:actually there are left handed conservatives and Ayn Rand is very anti-liberal (and this is not a scholarship). I rephrased the article to reflect the actual debate that is going on. Left-handed and family-name scholarships exist but are not merit based. The Letterman award required high quality work in "written work, research, audio, video, graphics and film."
