'''Richard Hutson''' (July 9, 1748 – April 12, 1795) was a delegate to the [[Continental Congress]] from the state of [[South Carolina]]. A lawyer and member of the [[Continental Congress]] in 1778 and 1779, Bartlett was a signer of the [[Articles of Confederation]]. Hutson was captured at the siege of [[Charleston]] and held prisoner by the [[British]] from 1780-1781; after his release, he served as Lieutenant Governor of South Carolina from 1782-1783, and was a member of the 1788 state constitutional convention which adopted the [[United States Constitution]]. <ref>http://bioguide.congress.gov/scripts/biodisplay.pl?index=H001017</ref>
