* Fairly sure that the section title "Niebuhr against anti-Catholicism" misrepresents Niebuhr's actual concerns. Niebuhr supported an mayorial candidate who was a member of the RCC only because he thought the Protestant candidate's open approval and material support by the KKK was heinous. I've read parts of a biography on Niebuhr before, I seem to recall that he remained quite reformed and from a theological standpoint was a lifelong anti-Catholic (in a similar or in the same sense as [[Martin Luther]] or [[John Calvin]]). --[[User:RickD|RickD]] 11:36, 28 January 2010 (EST)
