:I believe the template is a very good idea, it gives people a clue who to ask for the locking reason or for unlocking/editing it (if asking on the Talk page does not give any results). Maybe locked archives should have their own template (no box, just something like "''This page is an '''archive'''. It has been locked to prevent further editing.''") since there's no reason to unlock them.
