|The Greek leaves out any reference to the "body" in this verse being the body of the Lord. It could just as well be the body of believers. Given the context of Paul addressing unity within the church, this is by far the most likely interpretation. Also, the fact that even the KJV doesn't use the phrase "body and blood" (which Paul uses without hesitation when that is what he wishes to talk about) indicates that the "body" here may not be the elements of the Lord's Supper but rather the church as a body of believers. When in doubt, leave the translation ambiguous and avoid as many liberal additions to the text as possible.
