While there is no evidence that religiosity by itself is an indicator or predictor of racism, it has been demonstrated that right-wing authoritarianism is a mediating variable that explains the link between the two. In other words, all things being equal, an atheist and a devout Christian are equally as likely (or unlikely) to be prejudiced against other races.  However, a person with strong right-wing authoritarian beliefs is much more likely to exhibit signs of prejudice than is a person without this political predisposition.
