I have been reading conservapedia for several months now, and I am pleased to say that my kids (11 and 14) also use it as their first point of call when needing encyclopedic information for homework assignments etc). I have not signed up an account as I do not feel knowledgeable (or tech-savvy) enough to contribute anything meaningful. However I fell compelled to chime in here regarding the ongoing discussion regarding the direction of this website. Cards on the table now: I am a conservative Christian and I read and encourage my kids to read this website because it promotes true American values. The main page is my "go to point" for the latest news, as the administrators here seem to have an uncanny knack of highlighting exactly the kind of stories I am interested in, I am also pleased to say that the article evolution has given my kids plenty of knowledge that is censored from them in school (and the satires have brought us all many hearty chuckles! :) ). From what little I know of this website, User:Conservative has contributed a huge amount of first-rate material and wishes to maintain the integrity of this site as a reliable conservative Christian resource, whilst User:Rob Smith (maybe with a view to enlarging the target audience?) wishes to make the site more liberal and cater to atheistic views. There are plenty of liberal atheistic sites out there, I choose not to read them. I choose to read conservapedia. Please don't change that Mr Schlafly. :Mr, Clough, I completely agree with you. My family is quite similar. In fact, aside from the movie [[Fireproof]] (which is unquestionably the finest movie of all time), the only entertainment I allow my children to indulge in is [[User:Conservative]]'s essays and satires. They love them all, but their favorite has to be [[Essay: Does Richard Dawkins have machismo?|Does Richard Dawkins have machismo?]] I can't tell you how it does my heart good to hear them running around the yard playing "debate." They take turns, where one plays Dr. William Lane Craig and the other pretends to be "Penn Jilette" or "Richard Dawkins." "Penn" runs away while "Dr. Craig" shouts "Ole! Ole! Ole!"
:[[User:Conservative]]'s essays have also taught my children how to deal with bullies. A very obese family recently moved in across the street. Fortunately, we know that obese people are almost always Atheists, which was confirmed when the neighbor's oldest son asked my oldest son about all the "Jesus stuff" we have. My son knew how to deal with this: He challenged the child to a debate and told him he lacked machismo. I was so proud! Now, whenever my son sees him on the street, he asks the heathen when he wants to debate. Like all atheists, the family has retreated into their intellectual bunnyhole and won't acknowledge us in public, thus implicitly acknowledging the correctness of Christianity.
