Marcus Antonius (Mark Antony in English) lived from 83-30 BC. He was a close friend of [[Julius Caesar]] and became part of a triumvirate , together with Octavian and Lepidus, after Caesar's death.He allied with [[Cleopatra]] and was defeated by Octavian's fleet at the [[Battle of Actium]], which ended the civil war and ushered in the monarchy.
