Oxfordshire, [[Gloucestershire]], and [[Warwickshire]] are the location of the region of England known as the [[Cotswolds]], well-known for its distinctive pale stone buildings. [[Winston Churchill]] is one of Oxfordshires most famous sons.

[[Winston Churchill]] is one of Oxfordshires most famous sons, and is buried in the churchyard at Bladon, on the edge of the Woodstock estate (owned by the Churchill family) where he was born. The boundaries of Oxfordshire were revised in 1974 to incorporate a large section of the adjoining county of Berkshire (including Berkshire's county town, Abingdon, and the railway centre of Didcot).
