Klobuchar it appears has some real enemies in the DC/mainstream media establishment. While other candidates, Warren, Booker, Harris, Gillibrand, Sanders, et al have serious problems and baggage, Klobuchar had a squeeky clean, well cultivated image as a perfectionist - up to a week ago when she announced for president. Now, acording to NYT, NBC and others, she once ate a salad with a comb. Heavens to Murgatroyd! What else is she capable of? RobSDeep Six the Deep State! 02:37, 27 February 2019 (EST)
Two object lessons in the use of propaganda
| "The visit of the US Senators to the post-Soviet countries was preceded by the Russian interference in the 2016 US presidential elections and Donald Trump winning the presidency. From the very beginning, John McCain openly opposed Trump’s decision to warm relations with Putin. The senators, by visiting the post-Soviet countries, tried to reassure them that the US would continue to support them in the face of Russian aggression.
Of note is that apart from false claim about the advance planning of the war, the Facebook user’s publication contains another false claim where he refers to the Azov regiment as Nazis. Myths about Nazis in Ukraine and, particularly, the Azov regimen being comprised of Nazis have been promoted actively after Vladimir Putin declared that the “denazification and the demilitarisation” of Ukraine were the reasons for invading Ukraine. In fact, the Azov regiment is an official government special unit of Ukraine’s National Guard which is controlled by the Ukraine’s Ministry of Internal Affairs." |
- "preceded by the Russian interference in the 2016 US presidential elections and Donald Trump winning" - it implies Russia interfered in the election (with no evidence) directly leading to Trump's winning without actually saying so. Amazing, coming from alleged "fact checkers".
- "In fact, the Azov regiment is an official government special unit" - this should be particularly insulting to readers, but given its target audience is naive Americans who (a) believe the government can do no wrong, and (b) America and its allies are always "the good guys", it makes the "In fact" claim frightening about our naive fellow citizens for whom this propaganda is intended, in addition to being insulting.
