Misleading

Rewrite it.

(A) Eastwood is not a registered Democrat, therefore he cannot vote in a Democrat primary for a Democrat candidate; (B) placing the false allegation behind a questionable source from September 2020 that refers to Democrat primaries, with the deceptive implication that Bloomberg ran in the General Election, is the sort of pure utter nonsense we can expect from our UK friends who have absolutely no understanding of the American political system, yet try to interfere in U.S. elections. Upon further research, I see that I made an error. The first cite refers to 2016, and is refuted by this: https://www.irishtimes.com/news/world/us/clint-eastwood-tired-of-political-correctness-supports-trump-1.2746208 The rest of it is utter garbage from garbage sites. IMO, this effort to turn Eastwood into a pansie is irreparable and fails. RobSFree Kyle! 17:33, September 25, 2021 (EDT)
Seems to me that there's some confusion surrounding my wording of the sentence. What I meant to say was that in an interview, Eastwood voiced support for Bloomberg during his campaign in early 2020, as the primaries were going on. He stated that, in his opinion, "the best thing we could do is just get Mike Bloomberg in there" [4]. While I understand how my lack of detail could mislead an uninformed reader, you make it sound like there's some kind of malicious intent behind it, as if I'm attempting to defame Eastwood. I can assure you that I'm definitely not trying to make him a "pansie", either. I've got nothing but respect for the man, despite the difference in political views. I'm also confused by the mention of "our UK friends". Not sure what that has do with anything. I'm American. User:Vince Did 7-14 11:35, September 27th, 2021 (EDT)
You from the UK? cause you haven't a clue what you're talking about. A registered Republican cannot vote in a Democrat primary. Hence, a registered Republican cannot "endorse" any Democrat primary candidate. Likewise, in the 2016 general election, Eastwood endorsed Trump. RobSFree Kyle! 12:31, September 27, 2021 (EDT)
So now let's talk about the difference between "support" and "endorse". The only way for Eastwood, a registered Republican, to "support" a Democrat primary candidate is to support him with money, not a vote. While it is true cross-party support like that does occur, Bloomberg was entirely self-funded.
This looks like a pretty lame effort by UK and European socialists to interfere in American elections. If you are an American as you say, it looks like typical deceptive communist Democrat rhetoric aimed at a typical low information idiot Democrat voter. RobSFree Kyle! 12:45, September 27, 2021 (EDT)
A boyhood friend of Clint Eastwood doesn't think Eastwood finished high school (McGilligan, Patrick (2015). Clint: The Life and Legend (updated and revised). New York: OR Books. ISBN 978-1-939293-96-1.). Who cares what Clint Eastwood and other Hollywood actors/people think! See also: Hollywood values.Conservative (talk) 13:15, September 27, 2021 (EDT)

LOL nice trolling, you had me there. You're pretty funny. But seriously, when a public figure, regardless of party registration, *verbally* says that they think a certain candidate should win, what would that be called besides voicing support? Also, Eastwood never really had a hardline stance on Trump. It varied from interview to interview. He initially said that if he had to pick one of the two, he'd rather Trump, but he also criticized Trump's blunt statements/tweeting. So how about this?

"Eastwood refrained from making official endorsements post-2012. During the 2016 election, he had previously stated that while he'd rather have Trump over Clinton, but later said he was remaining neutral. "I haven't supported anybody, really. I have stayed out of it." He also compared the Trump vs Clinton pair to one of Abbott and Costello[5]. During the Democratic primaries in 2020, when asked about who he preferred, he stated that he believed"the best thing we could do is just get Mike Bloomberg in there"[6]." Is that permissible? Also, still not from the UK. Born and raised in good ol' Florida. Vince Did 7-14God bless the sunshine state! 10:13, September 28th, 2021 (EDT)

A lot of people voiced skepticism prior to the 2016 election because of the communist-controlled media, myself included. We're out of the closet now. RobSFree Kyle! 15:51, September 28, 2021 (EDT)
But that's my point, Clint never left the closet. Vince Did 7-14God bless the sunshine state! 17:45, September 28th, 2021 (EDT)
Not according to the Irish Times, linked above. RobSFree Kyle! 18:06, September 28, 2021 (EDT)
What's your argument now, the people of Ireland can speak and comprehend English better than Americans or people in the UK? RobSFree Kyle! 18:08, September 28, 2021 (EDT)
That Irish Times article was published a month *prior* to the ExtraTV interview I've cited. Seems to me like Eastwood changed his tune in that time.
Hollywood rag mags, there you go! Then, a Harvey Weinstein groupie is going to set him straight. Man, our readers are gonna be on the cutting edge of information. RobSFree Kyle! 14:21, September 29, 2021 (EDT)
As I said, A Registered Republican cannot endorse a Democrat primary candidate. RobSFree Kyle! 16:52, October 3, 2021 (EDT)

Carmel

When Clint Eastwood ran for city mayor of the city of Carmel, California he won a landslide victory.

"Eastwood entered the race after the Carmel City Council refused to let him build an office and retail complex next to his restaurant, the Hog’s Breath Inn. (A modified version of his plan was approved.) The hottest issue of the campaign was a 1985 city law forbidding local stores from selling ice cream cones and other take-out foods (the idea was to cut down on litter and preserve the town’s character). Positioning himself as the ”pro-business candidate,” Eastwood overturned the ordinance shortly after he took office. He also added water to the town’s supply and built public restrooms."[1] Conservative (talk) 14:32, September 29, 2021 (EDT)
