Hi. You said there is no need for categories on a redirect page. I disagree. I often search for the word crude oil rather than petroleum and find it useful to sort it into a category. TheAmericanRedoubt 04:59, 3 January 2015 (EST)

Dear sir, please consider the purpose and use of a redirect page. If someone types crude oil into the search box, they are taken to the petroleum page. If someone clicks on the Category link, they are taken to the category page which presents the list of articles in that category. If categories are included on a redirect page, then the category page mistakenly presents the list as if there are two separate articles on the related subject.
