So what does this article teach us:

• Inflation is a good thing?

• Saving money (in expectation of lower prices) is a bad thing?

• China is better at handling its money supply than the United States Federal Reserve Board?

The Taiwanese and many Singaporeans are ethnically Chinese and these countries have no deflation.

Deflation is caused a decrease in aggregate demand. China's former "one child policy" and its current low fertility rate are not good for aggregate demand as less consumers are being created. "Yes, China's former "one-child policy" and the resulting low fertility rate are considered major contributing factors to the country's current deflationary pressures. The long-term demographic shift has created a mismatch between supply and demand, with significant negative impacts on consumption and investment."[1]

The current "lying flat" and "let it rot" movements within China's youth is deflation causing too (China has high youth unemployment). "China's "lying flat" and "let it rot" movements contribute to deflationary pressures by encouraging a reduction in consumer spending, labor participation, and ambition. These attitudes dampen demand and lower economic output, aligning with broader deflationary trends in the country."[2]

Also, "China's property crisis contributes to deflation by suppressing demand, reducing household wealth, and causing a broad-based drop in related goods and services prices. Inflation kills the Protestant work ethic, to work hard, save, and invest. Deflation gives an incentive to save and not squander one's resources on consumer goods before your money loses any more value.
