Genesis 9:22–25

In these verses, Ham is vaguely described as committing something egregious against his father Noah, and his son Canaan is punished. Now, as for what Ham actually did, that's not easy to conclusively determine, though something else struck me as I was discussing this topic with a friend of mine. At face value, this is stating a rather plain fact, though it should be noted that out of Noah's three sons, one of them rebelled against him. The number 1/3 seems to have great relevance to Scripture... take a look at the Book of Revelation, which says:

His tail swept down a third of the stars of heaven and cast them to the earth. And the dragon stood before the woman who was about to give birth, so that when she bore her child he might devour it.

—Rev. 12:4

Scripture evidently indicates that Satan (then Lucifer) brought a third of the angels in Heaven to sin with him, leading them to get cast out of Heaven. And Satan also caused exactly one-third of Noah's sons to sin. Coincidence? Probably not. These examples also go to demonstrate just how prevalent sin is. In the case of Ham, he was among the eight people seen as righteous by God before the Great Flood is sent, yet ended up terribly sinning against his father, as Genesis 9:22 states. —LT (Mark 8:36) Sunday, 14:08, January 15, 2023 (EST)
