Talk:Keith Ellison

During his swearing in ceremony in early January 2007, Ellison replaced the Bible with a the Quran and then took his oath of duty with one hand placed on the Quran.

This was debunked, or at least is misleading. The real swearing-in ceremony was done en masse, with no books. He later restated the oath with a Quran, which I suppose he characterized as a "ceremony," but it had no official weight or meaning. He did not replace the Bible with the Quran, because there was no Bible present or expected for him to replace at his personal "ceremony."--All Fish Welcome 03:14, 15 April 2007 (EDT)

The Post article cited for

Ellison is quite controversial due to past statements made about Jews and white people, and his ties with the radical Nation of Islam.

Doesn't actually include any statements about Jews or white people, or mention their existence. It does mention the Powerline accusations of anti-Semitism, and the NoI ties, so I edited the entry to reflect just those. I'm okay with my edit, but if someone wants to change it to stronger language, it'd be cool if htey could find a source for the stronger claim, maybe someone who read Powerline more often back in 2006, and could find the sources that Powerline linked to. - Loremipsum 18:48, 14 July 2007 (EDT)

  • He said earlier this week that he chose to use this Quran because it showed that a visionary like Jefferson believed that wisdom could be gleaned from many sources. [1]

Difficult article

This is a difficult article to manage, Number 1, Ellison is not a Progressive nor a supporter of the homosexual agenda. He should not be referred to as a Progressive. He swore his oath of office on the Koran, and as such we should accept that on good faith. While Mohammad may have been a homosexual pedophile, Ellison's support of the homosexual agenda should be referenced as being supportive of a coalition with progressives and homosexuals that share the Islamist objective of destroying Western civilization and Western notions of law.
