Actually, it wasn't really Mexican aggression that started the war. Texas was a part of the nation of Mexico. American settlers began moving into the region and attempted to take over power. Mexico was defending itself from an invasion of immigrants from the United States. -Gasmonkey


This war is covered by two articles: This one and Mexican-American War. Obviously we only need one. Since "Mexican War" is more ambiguous, I suggest retaining the Mexican-American War article, moving all relevant content from this one into the other, and turning this into a redirect.
