Talk:Paraphilia

Howdy. I happen to have, due to my family's background, a copy of the DSM-5 (known in a colloquial and blasphemous way as "the Psychologist's Bible"), and the DSM-IV. My mother was a former licensed chemical dependency counselor, and steadfast conservative, if you're curious. I can provide official definitions of paraphililas from both versions. I wouldn't even bring up this screwed-up topic if not for the fact that there has been a major change in what the ever-shifting liberal APA considers to be paraphilias between the DSM-IV and DSM-5. Sadomasochism, voyeurism/exhibitionism, and even transsexuality have been removed. The DSM-I had homosexuality as a paraphilia, and it should've stayed there. If y'all think my insight about the APA's continuous shift to the left is worth a write-up, just give me a holler. --Pious 01:39, 17 July 2016 (CDT)

It seems to me that such an effort would be well worth while. This is another of the many topics I really don't know anything about, though perhaps I should. --David B (TALK) 22:04, 17 July 2016 (EDT)
