Fix
The template currently creates dates as wikilinks, ie
}}{{#if: {{{accessdate|}}}
| . Retrieved on [[{{{accessdate}}}]]
The linking also takes place when an archivedate is used, ie
[[{{{archivedate}}}]]
This should be changed - by removing the unnecessary [[ ]] - unless anyone is ever going to create articles about otherwise meaningless dates. NeilWalker (talk) 08:28, 26 August 2017 (EDT)
- This version of the template dates back to when Wikipedia linked to dates, so that you could see what happened on any date in recent history. After the template was ported to Conservapedia, WP had a wide-spread campaign to unlink dates. Conservapedia does not automatically follow WP's decision-making. - I agree with NeilWalker's comment. Automatically linking dates creates annoying visual clutter on the screen. Rejecting changes made at Wikipedia just because it's Wikipedia is an emotional response, not practical. — Philcooper81T 16:15, 13 August 2019 (EDT)
Can an administrator make a minor, though crucial adjustment to the template?
In the following part of the template:{{#if: {{{accessdate|}}}
| . Retrieved on [[{{{accessdate}}}]]
}}.
Please remove the brackets around {{{accessdate}}}. It only adds needless red links to random dates which CP would not have articles on. It appears that the above section for this template talk page addressed this issue as well, but the problem was never resolved before. —LTMay D.C., his mother, and I.S. be all well!
