Template talk:QuoteBox2

Needed?

Was there a need for this template that couldn't have been accommodated by adding options to {{QuoteBox}}?

And if it remains, it would be better as a

box than a table, and that would also allow more options, such as setting the widths in ems, which is much better than setting it in pixels.

Additionally (but sorry to sound so critical), I really dislike template names that don't give an indication of their use. The "2" part of the name gives no indication of how it is different to QuoteBox.

Philip, probably not. My original intention was just to modify it but the original quote box is used on quite a few locked pages and I wouldn't want the default to be so ugly. Personally I think it has been overused as a way of presenting text. I made QB2 for use as a page decoration so that a significant quote could be highlighted. Currently only one page uses it although I would like to see more :). If I could access the other pages I would have edited them for the newer version. This could still be done and QB2 graveyarded but it is beyond my current powers. BrianCo 14:24, 10 July 2007 (EDT)

There is also {{Cquote}}, but I like this one better than that! I'm open to suggestions on improving the appearance of {{QuoteBox}} too.
