Template talk:QuoteBox2

Needed?
Was there a need for this template that couldn't have been accommodated by adding options to {{QuoteBox}}?
And if it remains, it would be better as a box than a table, and that would also allow more options, such as setting the widths in ems, which is much better than setting it in pixels.
Additionally (but sorry to sound so critical), I really dislike template names that don't give an indication of their use. The "2" part of the name gives no indication of how it is different to QuoteBox.

- Philip, probably not. My original intention was just to modify it but the original quote box is used on quite a few locked pages and I wouldn't want the default to be so ugly. Personally I think it has been overused as a way of presenting text. I made QB2 for use as a page decoration so that a significant quote could be highlighted. Currently only one page uses it although I would like to see more :). If I could access the other pages I would have edited them for the newer version. This could still be done and QB2 graveyarded but it is beyond my current powers. BrianCo 14:24, 10 July 2007 (EDT)
- There is also {{Cquote}}, but I like this one better than that! I'm open to suggestions on improving the appearance of {{QuoteBox}} too. I've left another message for you on your talk page, and I'll wait for some more follow-up to that before making any changes to QuoteBox. Philip J. Rayment 20:40, 10 July 2007 (EDT)
