Tina Peters
Tina Peters, age 70 (as of Nov. 2025), is a former Mesa County, Colorado, clerk who has been imprisoned on politically motivated charges of scheming to breach voting machine data, as she sought to ensure election integrity in the 2020 presidential election. Tina Peters is, in essence, a political prisoner of the Left, similar to what Americans have properly complained about in foreign countries.
Democrat-controlled Colorado absurdly sentenced her to 9 years in prison, rather than the probation that many expected on the rarely used charges filed against her. No one has ever been given such a long prison sentence on similar facts. The Colorado sentencing judge repeatedly called Peters a "charlatan" during the sentencing hearing,[1] which of course would not be a crime anyway.
On November 12, 2025, Trump's DOJ sent an official letter to Colorado requesting her release to federal custody,[2] which Colorado officials rejected in late November.[3]
Tina Peters' age and poor health render it possible that she could die in jail as a political prisoner of the Left.
