The Triballi (Τριβαλλοί) were an ancient tribe who we can directly connect with modern Serbians. Their lands extended "...from the plain of Kossovo in modern Servia northward towards the Danube"[1] These people encompassed on the south the northern fringes of North Macedonia, at the core and west modern Serbia, on the east the very edge of Bulgaria, on the north the southern side of the river Danube.
