Wesley Crusher
Wesley Crusher was a character on the The Next Generation: Star Trek Series. He is an honorary Ensign who is not a graduate of Strak Trek Academy. This character is noteworthy in part because a large number of Star Trek fans disliked him. Descriptions of negatively held attitudes towards this character include "annoying" and "[a desire to] punch in the face". Hate-filled discussions about this Star Trek character can be found on the internet. There was also evidence that the character had been created as a self-insert of franchise creator Gene Roddenberry, namely the fact that Wesley shared his first name with Roddenberry's middle name. As regularly appearing character, Mr. Crusher leaves the show during the 4th year but makes guest appearances and is mentioned in the 4th, 5th, 6th, and 7th.
