For years, Islam and Christianity have had a very strained relationship.
Every single year, hundreds of innocent Christians are killed in the hands of Muslim extremists and at least dozens of Christian females -- including teenagers and even younger children -- are violently raped by Muslim men. Houses of Christians, as well as churches,[1] are torched and sometimes even bombed,[2] while Christians do not commit significant violence towards Muslims.
The Differences Between Islam and Christianity
Many people compare Islam and Christianity for these main reasons:
- Both originate from the Middle East and are Abrahamic and monotheistic religions.
- In both religions, Jesus Christ is believed to have been sent by God.
- In both the Holy Bible and Quran, Adam and Eve are considered to be the first people, created by God.
Islam and Christianity do have some things in common, but this section focuses on their many differences instead.
Note: These are just some of the differences between these two biggest religions in the World. Suggestions are welcomed.
- According to Islam, God does not love the people that reject Islam,[3][4] but according to the Bible, God loved all people, so much that he gave his only son, Jesus.[5]
- Prophet Muhammad permitted lying and stealing from people who don't believe in Islam[6] - Jesus did not permit lying nor stealing; he said, "you shall not steal" and "you shall not bear false witness".[7]
- Muslims do not believe that Jesus is God incarnate and only view him as a great prophet
- Muslims do not believe that salvation is by God's grace alone through faith alone[8]
- Greatest commandments:
- According to Islam, Jesus was not crucified
- In Islam, the Holy Spirit is the arch angel Gabriel and not the third person of the Holy Trinity
- In Islam, man was not made in the image of God
- In Islam, there is no original sin; according to Islamic belief, people are sinless until they begin to rebel against God
- The Holy Trinity in Islam consists of the Father, Mary and Jesus
