Mack Sennett (January 17, 1880 – November 5, 1960) was Canadian-born Michael Sinnott. He was an American film director and actor and was known as an innovator of slapstick comedy in film, beginning during the silent era and continuing into sound. During his lifetime, he was known at times as the "King of Comedy". His most famous stars include Fatty Arbuckle, Ben Turpin, the Keystone Kops, and Charlie Chaplin. He played Sherlock Holmes 11 times.
