The Bolivarian Alliance of the Americans is an anti-American international organization, founded by Hugo Chavez. Chavez justified that the Free Trade Area of the Americas (ALCA) is an "instrument of imperialism".
Members
The biggest part of the members of ALBA are left socialist states:
- Antigua and Barbuda
- Bolivia
- Dominica
- Ecuador
- Cuba
- Nicaragua
- St. Vincent and the Grenadines
- Venezuela
Observer member are:
Honduras was also a member, but after the victory of the conservative National Party of Honduras, it left the organization.
