The Easter Bunny is a folkloric rabbit who delivers eggs and candy on Easter. The tradition began around the time of the Renaissance among Lutherans from Germany, the Low Countries, and Scandinavia. The "Easter Bunny" is very similar to the Christmas gift-bringer, Santa Claus and also bears some similarities to the Sandman and the Tooth Fairy.
