A no-go zone or no-go area is any region of any country, over which the authorities of said country have ceded control to an invading power or a resident rebel or protest movement, thereby relinquishing sovereignty over said region. The authorities need not be acting under force majeure but may in fact grant a de facto territorial cession merely to keep civic peace.
