The Odyssey was an epic poem and sequel to the Iliad written by Homer, a Greek poet, in the 8th century B.C. The main theme of the poem was about Odysseus' journey home from Troy, his trials along the way, and his eventual reuniting with his wife after dispatching her lecherous suitors.
