Christianity in England owes its origin primarily to the labors of Pope Saint Gregory the Great. Britain was Catholic Christian for nearly a millenium after the labors of the Saintly Pontiff, and it became Anglican Christian after the Protestant Reformation.
Saint George is recognized as the Patron Saint of England and the Flag of England includes the Cross of Christ. Britain has deep Christian roots and many British Christians hope for a revival of the Christian Faith in their country, the Faith that made Britain Great.
By 2022, it is estimated, Catholic Christians will comprise about 25% of English Christianity by denomination. [1] Some secularist projections have predicted a statistical decline of Christianity by 2067[2], but such projections have been falsified before. God may well have other plans for His people in England.
