The aborigines are the native people of Australia. They are dark-skinned, and traditionally dress in loincloths. However, in the 20th century they began to come out of the interior of the Outback and into modern society, where they occupy a place similar to African Americans in America. Very few aborigines still wear loincloths, except in tourist parks.[Citation Needed]
