Eric Patrick Clapton, CBE, (b. March 30, 1945) is an English blues/rock and roll guitarist and vocalist. Considered one of the greatest guitarists ever, Clapton has been a member of the Yardbirds, Cream,[1] Derek and the Dominos, Blind Faith, the Bluesbreakers, as well as a solo artist. Among Clapton's best known recordings are "Layla", "I Shot the Sheriff", "Cocaine", and "Lay Down Sally". Rolling Stone magazine listed Clapton as #4 in their list of the 100 greatest guitarists.
