I don't think one can say that Maoism, Fascism, capitalism, or fundamentalist Christianity - just to name a few ideologies - are "true" or "false." The idea that capitalism is an ideology rather than a set of immutable laws is one of the biggest myths and Cold War hangovers among Marxists & non-Marxists alike. Capitalism is not necessarily synonymous with freedom & democracy. Lenin, Stalin & Mao all operated capitalist systems, albeit incompetently (based on a deceptive ideology).
