Operation Mockingbird is a CIA operation that entailed placing CIA agents in various news media to influence and shape public opinion and perceptions.
In 2013 a CIA contractor, Jeff Bezos, whose Amazon.com won a $450 million per year no-bid contract to provide internet hosting services to CIA, took the proceeds of the sale and promptly bought The Washington Post, a highly influential domestic policy publication.
By law, the CIA is banned from interfering in domestic politics. The Obama/Biden administration, with help from the Washington Post owned by a paid CIA contractor, violated this basic law with the Russiagate hoax.
